Overview

Peekd ("Peekd," "we," "us," or "our") provides an email tracking and follow-up assistant that connects to your Gmail or Outlook inbox. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have — including, specifically, how we handle data we access through the Gmail API.

By connecting an inbox to Peekd or using getpeekd.com, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

How Peekd uses your Gmail or Outlook data

In plain terms, here is exactly what Peekd does with your inbox once you connect it:

  • We read your inbox to detect and display opens, link clicks, and replies for emails you send through Peekd, and to show you the relevant message thread and recipient context inside the Peekd dashboard.
  • We send email on your behalf only when you compose and press send inside Peekd, or when you explicitly approve an AI-suggested follow-up before it goes out. Peekd never sends an email without an action from you.
  • We store the OAuth access and refresh tokens issued by Google or Microsoft on our servers so we can maintain your connection without asking you to sign in every time. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
  • We do not sell, rent, or otherwise transfer your Gmail data to third parties, and we do not use it for advertising, and we do not allow humans to read your email content except as strictly necessary for security, support requests you initiate, or legal compliance.

Information we collect

Account information

Your name, email address, and profile details provided when you sign up or sign in with Google or Microsoft.

Email metadata & content

Subject lines, recipient addresses, send/open/click/reply timestamps, and — only for emails you send through Peekd — the message body, so we can track engagement and power AI follow-up suggestions.

Usage data

Pages you visit in the Peekd dashboard, features you use, device type, browser, and IP address, collected to keep the product reliable and secure.

Billing information

If you upgrade to Pro, our payment processor collects and stores your payment details directly. Peekd does not store full card numbers on our own servers.

How we use your information

  • To provide the core Peekd product: open/click/reply tracking, activity timelines, and AI follow-up suggestions.
  • To operate, maintain, and secure your account and our infrastructure.
  • To send you service notifications (e.g., "your email was opened") and, if you opt in, product updates.
  • To respond to support requests.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
Google API Services User Data Policy. Peekd's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Gmail data is used only to provide and improve the user-facing features you see in Peekd — it is never used for serving advertisements, and it is never sold or transferred to third parties for their own independent use.

The use of raw or derived user data received from Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

AI features and Google user data

Peekd’s optional “Generate reply” feature uses an AI provider API key that you add in Settings. If you use it, Peekd sends only the selected thread (subject, snippet, and the message text needed to draft a reply) to that provider, solely to produce a draft you review before sending. Peekd does not use Gmail or other Workspace data to develop, improve, or train generalized AI or ML models. Peekd does not transfer Workspace data to third parties so they can train their models. You should only connect providers whose terms prohibit training on API customer data.

Sharing & sale of data

We do not sell your personal data or your Gmail/Outlook data. We share data only with:

  • Service providers who host our infrastructure, process payments, or send transactional email on our behalf, bound by contracts that restrict them to providing the service to us.
  • Legal authorities when required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Peekd, our users, or the public.
  • A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to this policy continuing to apply to your data.

Storage & security

Data is stored on infrastructure provided by reputable cloud hosting providers. OAuth tokens and message content are encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to production data is limited to authorized personnel who need it to operate or support the service. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.

Retention & deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can disconnect your Gmail or Outlook account at any time from Settings, which immediately revokes Peekd's access and deletes the stored OAuth tokens. You can request full deletion of your account and associated data by emailing hello@getpeekd.com — we'll complete deletion within 30 days.

You can also revoke Peekd's access directly from your Google Account permissions page at any time.

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@getpeekd.com and we'll respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Children's privacy

Peekd is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the dashboard before the changes take effect.
